‘The seed of Aravindam india Gurukul was sown when Dr Lokesh Abrol, supported by Shri Rajesh Khullar IAS, assisted the MCG in establishing a one of its kind shelter for stray Cows in Gurugram in the year 2008. It was designed to provide a conducive environment for the Cows, and the neighboring under-privileged communities for promoting the learning of the rich Indian Heritage at a location that holds an unparalleled significance in the Indian Society.
The Gurukul Kalpataru Aravindam started in 2009 under a Keekar tree, and a library in the labour quarters, in the under construction MCG Kamdhenudham Gaushala, Gurugram.
Ewelina Janus along with her volunteer Surbhi Khanna initiated the first batch of children into the non-formal education. Ms Ewelina invested ten years into developing the gurukul into a vibrant institution, with the help of a very committed team of volunteers and supporters. It has come a long way since.
The foundation was formally registered on 11th January 2013 under section-25 (now Section 8) as a non-profit under the companies act 1956 as ‘Fundacja Aravindam Social Development’.
